Komorowski on his last official visit to Slovakia

Komorowski on his last official visit to Slovakia

"I would truly like to say thank you very, very much for Mr Komorowski’s personal contribution to the friendship between our countries,” said President Kiska after meeting the outgoing Polish President, Bronisław Komorowski, who was on his last official visit to Slovakia. “I discovered in him an enlightened person with an incredible knowledge of history. Kind and inspiring. A person whose heart is in the right place. A healthy patriot whose inner compass is set in the right direction.”

„During my year of activity we have met more than ten times and that speaks for itself. We are connected by our mutual effort to move forward various projects we have discussed,” emphasized the President. He mentioned, for example, transport infrastructure or the gas interconnector. “What pleased me immensely was the enormous effort made for our countries and our people to come together.”

In their statements both presidents stressed the fact that they shared values and opinions as far as the present situation in Europe was concerned. “I am happy that we have always, even though it was sometimes more difficult, found a mutual approach and a common view of matters taking place at present,” said Komorowski. “I am referring to our cooperation in the deep crisis between Russia and Ukraine. And at the same time our mutual efforts to maintain the high tempo of integration of the Western world.”

“I am prepared and looking forward to similar solid and good cooperation with President Komorowski’s successor, the newly-elected President Andrzej Duda,” concluded Kiska.
