On Tuesday 15 December 2021, President Zuzana Čaputová took part in her regular meeting with the heads of the missions of EU countries to Slovakia, which was held online due to the ongoing pandemic.

The President believes that her regular meetings with the heads of the missions of EU countries to Slovakia always provide an excellent opportunity to analyse the current situation and the challenges that the Union is facing. The discussion did not shy away from questions on the rule of law, migration and the overall security situation in the region. “One of the topics of our online meeting was the importance of ensuring social fairness in the forthcoming green transition of the EU economy. The ambassadors also appreciated the carbon neutral strategy of the Office of the President and see it as a real example for other public institutions in Slovakia.”

The President and the heads of missions discussed the current situation on social media, where disinformation and hoaxes are undermining people’s already weakened faith in institutions. “One of the things that pleased me here was the extremely positive and broad response to our education videos on how social media work “Think with the head of state”.”
